OVERVIEW

1. Description Of Our Team

This team consists from 3 students and 1 teacher as coach. This team chooses Health and Environmental Awareness because we are care about health and environmental situation in the world. Although we only have a few times to make up the website, we tried to do the best. And we always do our project seriously. Our team members are:

Husein (16 years old)
Husein is the web designer in our team. He is great in web design. In future, he wants to be an animator. He is a leader in this project. So, he divided up the material for us and always gives us a spirit to do the best for this project. Therefore, without him we cannot finish the project.

Aji (16 years old)
He is very good in searching data. If we want to search an article, he always helps us to get the article. His hobbies are browsing internet and watching television. He has too many knowledge. Therefore, he made many articles too. In the future, he wants to be a great business owner, investor, and pilot.

Nurul (16 years old)
Her job is finds out data to complete the web. Without her, the project cannot finish too. She is the only one girl in this team. She always gives spirit for this team. She is very like to read a book. So, it would be useful for this project. Her dream is to be a succeed surgeon because she has an interest in health.

Mr. Dalmono (44 years old)
Mr. Dalmono is our coach in this project. Too many things we had been learn from him. He always gives us spirit, motivating us to do the best, tells us how to manage our time and tells us how to work seriously without leaving a humor feels. Because of him, we can make up this project happily. We cannot finish this project without him.

2. Summary of Our Project

In this project we decided category of Health and Environmental Awareness Issues. For the theme, we choose Cigarette And The Hazards. We take  this theme because we are care about health in the world.
Nowadays, cigarette consumption is getting worse, not because of the increasing amount of the user, instead the user decrease began at 1980s. However, there are still many people addicted by cigarette, cigar, snuff, chewing tobacco. Maybe, that is not new problem in this world. But, we are trying to prevent from the worst that may happen to the people. With Doors to Diplomacy project, we can show that we are care about every problem in this world, especially Health and Environmental Awareness Issues.
Inside the web, we’re talking about the history of cigarette, impact, and also we give a solution how to desist from smoking habit. We hope our website can help the reader to much more aware about smoking and peoples should think twice to smoking.

            We have six computers PC in our class. Those computers help us to finish the project easier. But, we got some problem with the connection. Sometimes the connection is very slow. That’s a big problem for us because we can’t access some data or article for the internet.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

When we were making up the project there are a lot of problem we had overcome. First, we were confuse, what is the most suitable theme for us. Each member wanted to choose different theme. But finally we agree to choose “Health and Environmental Awareness Issues”. We choose this category, because we interest with health in the world. And the theme that we choose is Cigarette. And we’ve try to do the best although we have a little hard to search the data.
Actually, our main problem is, we only have 3 weeks to make the project. We just have a few times to discuss our material. Each of us has too many schedules, like extracurricular, academic course, and the other. Beside of that, our internet connection speed is too slow.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Cigarette has influenced life very much. Many peoples died and many peoples ‘life’, too. Could you see million peoples died and ‘life’ behind the fumes of smoke? Died because of the poison of cigar fumes, they inhale much toxic that they get from the cigarette.

6. How did your activities and research for this international project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

There are three main required coursework and curriculum standards can be addressed by these international project activities. Those include standards for improvement of knowledge, skills, and attitude. By conducting these project activities we can improve our knowledge related to international issues and we can practice the skills to apply ICT (Information and Communication Technology) for searching and exchanging global information related international issues. Finally, the attitude for having mutual benefit in communication and team working can also improved.
            Obviously, this project really fit to our required school and curriculum, because this project provided us more opportunity to learn the international issues and values.
            Indeed, the students could have many experiences from this project. They learned more how to utilize ICT to support the knowledge improvement, such as how to search appropriate information related to the project like the Smoking Problems. They also had good opportunity to practice their English and improve their understanding and knowledge related to smoking problem in English. Even though, students learned how to work and communicate in a team.
Furthermore, through this project we could practice the concept for sharing knowledge and understanding within the students working in the group. We can also learn together and disseminate the understanding obtained from this project.
Through this project we learned more about international issue that made us more familiar with and having better understanding on such issues. Much more information and knowledge from global world can be searched and obtained by using internet to support the teaching and learning activities in this project. All of the information and knowledge can be collected in relatively shorter time than by using traditional methods.
