The Real Function of School

In fact, the function of school is as a place for student to get knowledge. Besides school also function as a place for developing student's ability and talent. School has the roles of teaching & education. Teaching can be defined as an effort to tr ansforn information to the students. There fore, teacher must master the material and use good teaching method. And the education can be defined as the formation process of behavior a n d skill.

School forms the behavior and skill of the student. Behavior cannot be transferred instantly, but it has to be formed. A certain skill & behavior can be formed through education. For example honest, fair, responsible, critical, discipline, innovative and creative. Teacher has an important role in the learning process. And the position of teacher in school is as educator. Teacher gives information to students to increase knowledge. The role given to teacher always has realitionship with the education in the society

School, in where the children spend 5 – 6 hours per day, is an institution which has a very big potential to influence the daily life of children. One of the elements which has important role to project a student and absolve school from drugs abuse is teachers.

Teachers, psychologically, in the phase adolescent growth, can give strong influence in changing and forming the students' behavior in school. They can be the model agent of the behavior change for the drugs abuse. They are also the motivator of student's behavior to prevent themselves from the influence of drugs-abuse.

Here, teachers hold a very important role in the effort of them is striving for a situation which can strengthen student's motivation in studying. Students can join various kinds of the activities which are enjoyable and students oriented. In a long period of time that will motivate the positive attitude so that minimizes the drugs abuse.
